50th Anniversary Committee?

“I would be glad to work with any committee formed that undertakes this project. We will discuss the committee topic at our Board of Directors’ meeting this month at 6:00pm in the church auditorium.”

This was how the last President Report ended. I have one commitment to join the committee. Are you interested, please let me know so the work may commence. We are 16 months away from the party.

Annual Train Show Moved

Rockford area’s annual model train show hosted by the National Model Railroad Association, Rock River Valley Division is moving for 2018 to the Belvidere North High School campus on the weekend of March 24-25th. The campus is at 9393 Beloit Road, Belvidere on Belvidere’s northwest side.

Show hours run from 10:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and 10:00am to 4:00pm Sunday. $5 entry fee, children under 12 accompanied by an adult are free. Boy Scouts in uniform are free.

If you are interested in helping out with the Chapter display table, please let John Fredrickson or myself know. If you are helping, let us know now so we can get you a pass and name tag. I plan to be there all day Saturday. And perhaps bring a few bucks to support the vendors that make the show feasible.

Last Call for Chapter Dues

Time is running out for your NWI-NRHS dues renewal for 2018. We are still at $20 for NWI Chapter dues.

A subscription to our newsletter North Western Limited alone remains at $20 as well. Your Chapter renewals and subscriptions may be sent to our Chapter P.O. box or presented at a chapter meeting. You may also mail your dues directly to Chapter Treasurer Lloyd Rinehart at: 522 Bradshaw Street, Dixon, IL. 61021.

The NWI Chapter will not handle the NRHS portion of their dues. A few years back, we use to do this for the National until they told chapters this was no longer their desire and to stop such activities. Today, the NRHS has changed its tune, but we will not handle the NRHS portion.

Please send the National’s dues directly to the NRHS.
And, you must be a paid up Chapter member or subscriber to enter our Photographer of the Year contest.

Carol Ann Schramm

We mournfully share the news of the passing of Carol Ann Schramm, wife of long-time NWI Chapter member Robert Schramm.
While we feel the loss, at the same time we also rejoice in Carol’s moving on into God’s kingdom.
