NWI Chapter Membership Report

May is my usual membership renewal results for 2023.

Today, we have 32 NRHS members. We have 71 subscribers.

Thank you for returning for another year of local and regional railroad news. Your memberships and subscriptions maintain the fire in 5632’s firebox as we proceed through another year.

NWI Chapter Historian

I am happy to announce NWL subscriber Gary Lutes has volunteered to take over the duties of Chapter Historian. Following a discussion of the position’s responsibilities, I appointed Gary to the position.

As the Photographer of the Year program unfolded, I noted some subtle changes. Gilbert Sebenste hosted the event with a bit more flare. He also rearranged the manner in which the entries were presented. In the end with revealing each winning photograph, he ran it like a “who will win” flare.

Thanks for your organizing and presentation of the program.

Several folks assisted with the ballot count following the presentation. I remember Ron Lundstrom and Norm Hoisington stepping up. If I missed your help, I apologize.

For some reason, this year’s field of entries were above average. Several times I had made my selection only having to replace it after even more consideration. As a group of photographers, the chapter is blessed to have many among our fold. Now is the time to begin your pursuit of the winning shot for 2023.
