PRESIDENT’S REPORT
December 2024 from
Jerry Pyfer
NWI Chapter Report
The NWI Chapter had a wonderful time during
the 55th anniversary Annual Meeting. 47 folks joined us for good times,
great presentations and pizza.
Oh ya, the pizza. If you arrived at 5pm to find the pizza had been devoured,
I’m right along with you. I didn’t get any either, and I bought
it. If we do this again, we’ll need to order more than four ex-larges.
Thanks to Jason Leverton for supplying the soft drinks.
Following the pizza, Mark and Mike Nelson gave their usual great slide
presentation. They never fail to get the moans and groans from the crowd.
I started the Annual Meeting on time at 7pm. Business included: Norm Hoisington
had made it known he would serve as secretary of the chapter. The position
was vacant following the nominations, he volunteered and I accepted.
This created an open spot for Director at Large. Todd Aspling made it
known he would serve. After some investigating, Todd was appointed as
our new Director at Large.
We will go to day-time meetings for the months of January, February, March
and April of 2025 on the fourth Saturday on a trial basis. Following that
time, we will revisit the idea to see if it should become permanent. The
doors will open at 2:30pm, the meetings will start at 3pm in the afternoon.
I then recognized Ron Lundstrom and Lloyd Rinehart for their many decades
of service to the chapter. Both fellows had stepped away from officer
positions during the nomination process.
I announced dues were due and many folks presented such to Lloyd and Dan,
our new treasurer. We seemed to regain some long lost subscribers and
members, welcome back.
Next came the multi-media presentations with a triple-header of Mikes
lead off, Mike Raia, Mike McBride and Mike Schafer. After a short break,
Jason Leverton, Lance Wales, Pat Malone and myself rounded out the evening.
Looking back, six shows might have sufficed.
Overall, I heard nothing but positive feedback from anyone offering an
opinion. Perhaps, we should consider this programming for next year.
Dues Renewal Season
NWI/NRHS dues renewal season is upon us.
Our NWI dues/NWL subscription will remain at $25.00 for 2025.
The NRHS portion remains at $50 for 2025. You must send the NRHS dues
directly to the National.
This year, we are asking renewals be sent to the PO Box. When the treasurer
transition is complete, sending your renewals to Lloyd will delay processing
your dues.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas
